Gutter Installation and Repair

A roof only finishes its job once the water is safely away from the building. Gutters are the least admired part of any exterior and the part that quietly protects your foundation, your siding, your landscaping, and everything you keep stored down in the basement below.

OVERFLOWING GUTTERS COST MORE THAN THEY LOOK LIKE THEY SHOULD.

Water spilling over a gutter lip land in a concentrated line right beside the foundation. Over a few seasons that erodes beds, saturates soil against the footing, stains siding, rots fascia, and finds its way into basements. None of it announces itself as a gutter problem until somebody finally looks up.

We form seamless aluminum on site, hang it with hidden hangers at the correct pitch, and put downspouts where the water actually needs to leave. Then we flood the whole run with water and watch it drain before calling the job finished.

  • Correct pitch and hidden hanger spacing
  • Downspouts routed away from foundations
  • Fascia and soffit repairs handled together

GUTTER INSTALLATION AND REPAIR

EVERY JOINT YOU AVOID IS A LEAK YOU NEVER GET.

Sectional gutter carries a seam every 10 to 12 feet, and each of those seams will eventually separate, sag, or drip. Seamless runs are rolled from a single coil to the exact length of your roofline, which leaves joints only at corners and outlets. That one difference dramatically reduces the maintenance a gutter system demands over its life, and it is the reason we form on site rather than assembling lengths from a supplier's shelf.

SIZED FOR THE RAINFALL WE ACTUALLY GET.

Northern Kentucky sees intense downpours that overwhelm undersized systems in minutes. Steep roofs deliver water to the gutter far faster than shallow ones, and heavy tree cover fills them faster still. We size gutters and downspouts to the roof area and pitch above them, rather than defaulting to a standard five-inch run on every single house we happen to visit.

DIRECTING RAINWATER WHERE IT BELONGS.

Most gutter problems Tri State All American Roofing and Restoration is called to are not failures of the gutter itself. They are pitch set backward, hangers spaced too far apart, downspouts discharging two feet from the wall, or a system half the size the roof needs. After 22 years, those causes are visible from the driveway. Would you rather guess at which one is causing your problem, or have somebody look who already knows the answer? We prefer the second.

WHAT A PROPER GUTTER SYSTEM DELIVERS

Black shield with a white checkmark icon
A FOUNDATION THAT STAYS DRY

You stop soaking the soil against your footing. Controlled discharge well away from the wall is the cheapest structural protection any building of yours will ever receive.

FEWER BASEMENT PROBLEMS

Damp walls and seeping floors very often begin at the roofline. Fixing the water above ground level solves far more basement complaints than sealing the concrete below it.

SIDING AND TRIM PROTECTED

Overflow runs down walls, stains finishes, and rots fascia and soffit boards. A gutter that carries its load keeps those surfaces dry and looking presentable for years.

LANDSCAPING THAT SURVIVES

Beds stop washing out every summer. Concentrated runoff destroys mulch, drowns plantings, and carves channels that reappear after every heavy storm until the source is corrected.

LESS ICE AT THE EAVES

Clear, correctly pitched gutters drain before freezing. Systems packed with debris hold water that expands, pulls hangers loose, and contributes to ice building up along the roof edge.

A TIDIER ROOFLINE

The whole exterior looks finished. Straight runs, matched colors, and clean corners change how a house presents itself far more than most people expect from gutters.

WHAT WE INSTALL

OUR GUTTER WORK

Gutter work covers new systems, targeted repairs, and the drainage details that decide whether either performs. Here is what we handle across homes and commercial buildings throughout the area, and what each job actually involves.

SEAMLESS RUNS

Seamless Gutter Installation

Aluminum coil is formed to the exact length of each roofline at your property. Hidden hangers, correct pitch, and sealed corners produce a system with almost nothing left to fail.

LEAK REPAIRS

Gutter Repair and Resealing

Separated corners, leaking end caps, sagging runs, and pulled hangers all get corrected individually. Replacing an entire system is rarely necessary when the aluminum itself is still perfectly sound.

DOWNSPOUTS

Downspout Installation and Extension

Outlets are placed where the volume demands them and extended far enough to matter. Discharging beside the foundation defeats the entire purpose of hanging gutters in the first place.

GUARD SYSTEMS

Gutter Guard Installation

Screens and covers cut cleaning frequency substantially on tree-covered lots. We fit systems that actually suit your debris load rather than whichever product carries the largest marketing budget.

CLEAN OUTS

Gutter Cleaning

Runs, corners, and downspouts get cleared by hand and flushed afterward. We also check hangers, pitch, and seams while we are up there, so problems surface before they cause damage.

FASCIA WORK

Fascia and Soffit Repair

Rotted fascia cannot hold a gutter, and damaged soffit blocks the intake ventilation your attic needs. We repair both as part of the job rather than hanging new metal on failing wood.

THE WORD ON OUR WORK

WHAT OUR CLIENTS SAY.

Gutters rarely inspire strong feelings until they stop working, at which point they become the most important thing on the house. Our reviews come from people whose basements finally stayed dry. They are worth a quick read before you book anyone.

faq

frequently asked
questions.

Gutter questions tend to focus on guards, cleaning frequency, sizing, and why a clean gutter can still overflow. These are the ones homeowners raise most often.

  • Are seamless gutters better than sectional ones?

Yes, in almost every case. Sectional systems carry a joint every 10 to 12 feet, and each joint is a future leak. Seamless runs limit joints to corners and outlets only.

  • How often do gutters need cleaning?

Twice a year suits most homes, in late spring and after the leaves drop. Properties under heavy oak or maple cover often need a third visit to stay ahead of accumulation.

  • Are gutter guards actually worth installing?

On tree-covered lots they reduce cleaning frequency substantially. They do not eliminate maintenance entirely, and Tri State All American Roofing and Restoration will tell you honestly whether your property in Covington, KY, benefits.

  • What size gutters does my house need?

Most homes suit five-inch gutters, but steep pitches, large roof areas, and heavy rainfall often justify six-inch runs with larger downspouts. We size from the roof area rather than habit.

  • Why do my gutters overflow even when they are clean?

Usually undersizing, incorrect pitch, too few downspouts, or water shooting past the gutter from a steep roof. Adding an apron or a drip edge extension frequently solves the last one.

  • How far from the house should downspouts discharge?

At least four to six feet, and further on clay soils or where the ground slopes back toward the building. Extensions and buried drains both work, depending on the property.

  • Can bad gutters cause ice dams at the roof edge?

They contribute. Debris-packed gutters hold water that freezes and blocks drainage, though the underlying cause is usually attic heat loss. Tri State All American Roofing and Restoration checks both in Covington, KY.

  • What are the signs that gutters need replacing?

Persistent sagging, separated seams that keep reopening, corrosion or splitting along the trough, and runs pulling away from the fascia all indicate the system has genuinely reached the end.

HOW WE WORK

FROM ROOFLINE MEASUREMENT TO WATER TEST, HERE IS HOW.

STEP 01

WE MEASURE

Every roofline is measured and the drainage area above it calculated. That calculation determines trough size, downspout count, and outlet placement long before any aluminum coil arrives at the property.

STEP 02

WE FORM

Coil stock is run through the forming machine on site to the exact lengths needed. Forming here rather than at a warehouse is what keeps the seams out of the finished system.

STEP 03

WE HANG

Hidden hangers go in at close spacing and fasten into solid framing rather than fascia alone. Correct hanger density is what stops a full gutter from sagging in the middle later.

STEP 04

WE PITCH

Each run is set with deliberate fall toward the outlets, checked with a level rather than by eye. Too little pitch holds water, and too much looks wrong from the street.

STEP 05

WE CONNECT

Downspouts are sized, secured, and extended so the discharge lands well clear of the foundation. Underground drains and splash blocks are added wherever the grade around the building makes them necessary.

STEP 06

WE TEST

The finished system is flooded with water and watched from end to end. Every joint, corner, and outlet is verified before anyone packs up the ladders and leaves your property.
